A Little at a Time
Today we are showcasing a home that we worked on over several years. It is not unusual for us to return to homes over and over again. Of course it is nice to have the satisfaction of completely overhauling your home in one fell swoop. However, quite often budgets require that things be taken one step at a time. The resulting home is one that changes and evolves over time which is typical of historical New England homes. In the case of this home we were first called in to renovate the main house. The home owners later purchased the house ...

Lime paint has many benefits. In addition to be a “green” product the paint is breathable and permeable. The paint is perfect for seaside applications since it is resistant to mold, mildew and bacteria. Another benefit is it is not effected by UV exposure so it doesn’t fade or change colors. Also, lime paint is naturally fire resistant.
This room is finished with a lime paint.
Tiny Houses
Posted on August 25, 2010 · Leave a CommentOne of the latest trends in eco-friendly design is building tiny houses. The premise is simple – build small and tread lightly on the earth. While these super small homes might be unrealistic for everyday living, they do seem well suited to vacation homes. It would certainly be refreshing to have a second home that requires little cleaning or maintenance.
Here is a petite house that is small in scale but not on craftsmanship. The home is located in the Catskills, NY and was build by Kim Krans and her husband Jonny Ollsin.
